Satake Obtains ISO/IEC 27001 Certification

Maintaining and Improving Information Security

On May 15, 2007, Satake Corporation obtained ISO/IEC 27001 Certification, an international standard for information security management systems (ISMS)*

ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard for information security established in 2005. It requires organizations to maintain and improve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information assets.
As a highly diversified company in the food industry, Satake Corporation has operated under the guiding principles of “Food safety, Peace of mind, Good taste and Healthfulness”.
Amid growing public concern about information security, Satake feels it is our social responsibility to manage and utilize our customers’ information and the company’s information assets precisely and safely.
To accomplish this, Satake installed an information security management system based on the ISO/IEC 27001 standard and worked hard to improve intra-office information security, enabling Satake to obtain this certification.
Satake will continue to actively maintain and improve information security throughout the company in order to enhance our customers’ safety and peace of mind.

* Information Security Management System (ISMS)
This is a system which improves overall information security by continuously repeating the PDCA Cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and carrying out case by case risk evaluations to determine appropriate information security levels.
