"Omusubino-GABA in Akihabara", a Handmade Rice Ball Shop, Opens May 21.

Promoting and Spreading Awareness of GABA Rice.

Satake is opening "Omusubino-GABA in Akihabara" on the ground floor of Satake's Tokyo Head Office on May 21 to promote and spread awareness of GABA rice.

"Omusubino-GABA" is primarily marketed towards office workers in the Akihabara area and provides a variety GABA rice balls, side dishes, and set menus (for example: 2 rice balls, fried chicken and pickles for JPY500) with take-out and eat-in service. Rice ball filling varies from standard grilled salmon and pickled plum to Spam (canned meat popular in Hawaii) and Hiroshima-na (specialty pickles from Hiroshima where Satake is headquartered). The price of rice balls is set at an affordable range: JPY120 to JPY300 per piece.

Satake wants to contribute to the improvement of human health by promoting GABA rice and its health benefits through "Omusubino-GABA in Akihabara".
