With a goal of creating safe, reliable, tasty and healthy food, Satake has developed various foods and processing machinery serving every stage of the food production process, from cultivation to the kitchen. Satake has also focused its expertise and experience to develop new kinds of healthier, tastier rice. One of these new kinds of rice is Rinse-Free GABA Rice, developed in 2009.
GABA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid) is a functional component which is abundant in germinated brown rice. Rinse-Free GABA Rice is rinse-free milled rice which is rich in GABA. This innovation has made it possible for consumers to add GABA to their diets without effort because Rinse-Free GABA Rice has the same taste and texture as the milled rice they already eat.
Satake opened Omusubino-GABA in Higashi-Hiroshima City as a place where people can learn about the advantages of GABA by eating delicious food. Omusubino-GABA also features a drive-through in addition to a dining area, a trait unique to this kind of restaurant. The menu features 15 kinds of rice balls, daily dishes, desserts and drinks. The shop is open from 7:00am to 3:00pm, and is only closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
