On December 8, Toshiko Satake, Chairperson of Satake Corporation, received an award from the Almond Board of California for her continued support of the almond industry.

The Almond Board of California (Head office: Modesto, California) is an organization overseeing the almond industry. Supervised by the US Department of Agriculture, the board serves as a representative of almond manufacturing and processing associations. It has been carrying out its mission to spread information about almonds and increase quality control both internationally and domestically since its founding in 1950. About 80% of the world’s almonds are produced in California.

The 38th Annual Almond Industry Conference was held at the Doubletree Hotel, Modesto, California, from December 8-9. The conference brought together approximatery 1,800 industry participants engaged in the cultivation, processing, shipping, and research of almonds for the purpose of promoting communication and exchanging ideas. Among them, Toshiko Satake, Chairperson of Satake Corporation, was recognized for her continued support of the almond industry.

Satake Corporation has cooperated to advance the almond industry on numerous occasions and sells an extensive line of color sorters through its subsidiary, Satake USA Inc. (Head Office: Houston, Texas, U.S.A. President: Junjiro Naoki).
